The Pioneer Woman is one of my go-to websites for new recipes. I’ve been reading Ree’s blog for years, so it has been fun to watch her new-ish TV show as well. Not long ago, she made a spicy pulled pork recipe that she served in a tortilla with a cilantro slaw. We have made that dish several times since then, and one of the best parts of the meal is the cilantro slaw. While I make mine a little differently than she does, it is so delicious that we now use cilantro slaw on lots of sandwiches and wraps. It has become somewhat of a staple in my kitchen.
Whether we’re having shrimp wraps, fish tacos, or BBQ chicken sliders, we always make a bowl of cilantro slaw to top it off. The cool, crispy slaw pairs well with a warm, spicy sandwich filler. And can you beat the taste of fresh cilantro? I don’t think so.

- One bag slaw mix
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 milk
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- salt
- pepper
- Mix together mayo, milk, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over slaw mix and cilantro and toss to coat. Place in fridge for about 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
What an interesting addition to cole slaw! Great idea!
