The Only Thing I’m Committing To Is Being Non-Committal

I’m gearing up to get serious about re-habbing my living room and master bedroom. I have a few hardwood pieces in each room that I really love, but I have never really taken the time and energy to pull it all together with draperies and upholstered pieces. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to do this. I think it’s because of FEAR. I fear that I might spend huge amounts of money on fabric (it can be quite costly, you know) and then not have the room turn out quite like I intended it to look. Or even worse, I would like it for a little while, and then grow tired of it. And not be able to change it because I spent a fortune on it. I clearly have committment issues with things that are going to cost me something that I’m just now uncovering. Good thing for Jonathan that I didn’t think about that 10 years ago. πŸ™‚
I’m having a hard time deciding between two groupings of fabrics. Clearly, although I am making progress with my non-committal issues, I am not ready to go it alone yet. I’m dragging all of you down with me. Which grouping do you like best? Should I use one in the den and the other in the bedroom? Are they too similar to use both? Should I use one and then go in a completely different direction with the other? Would you, could you in a box? Would you, could you with a fox?
Here’s group A:
Here’s group B:
And just because I can’t stop at the two choices I’ve already committed to, here’s group C:
I know those two pictures above didn’t load, but it really doesn’t matter because they were white canvas swatches, which look just like that blank white box. You don’t even have to use your imagination. see how good I am to you?
OK, there you have it! which will it be? Please help me out on this or I’ll never get off square 1.

  1. i really like group a, but i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, group C. I recently did my room in browns, blues and greeens and I LOVE the outcome πŸ™‚

  2. I love group A! But I really like that green/white ummm….crisscross? fabric in group C…Can it be incorporated in Group A somehow? LOL
    Great choices!

  3. The Youngbloods says

I think Group B for your bedroom. Group A for the den maybe. It is hard to make a decision. When we moved I had our bedroom stuff made and it was worth it!

  4. I like b and c, because I'm more of a green/brown/blue girl than "orange". I realize that oversimplifies the colors in a. But, you asked… πŸ™‚ and one in the bedroom, one in the den would be great! And even if you choose "a", I'll still sit on a couch at your hosue covered in "orange"…

  5. LOVE LOVE LOVE Group B! Great taste with all three though.

  6. i like "a" for the den, it looks like you. love the patterned brown fabric. it will take you far. i like "b" for your bedroom. i like the repeat of the patterned fabric. i think "b" could take on a more formal look. "a" looks classic, yet fun & comfortable. i'm so excited to see what you do. don't worry it will turn out cute.
