The Years Are So Short

My girls and I picked blueberries today. We have our favorite little blueberry-picking spot in Harpersville, Alabama, called Morgan Creek Vineyards. We’ve been picking blueberries there since 2010, and it’s honestly one of the most peaceful places on earth. Also one of the hottest, but that’s a story for another day. But just for the record, it was 104 when we left. Gah, that’s hot.

Anyhoo, several friends asked about it, so I pulled up my old post, which you can read here, about the first time we went to Morgan Creek. Y’all I couldn’t believe how much my children have grown in two short years! Time is flying by too fast with these two sweet girls. I wish somebody would stop the clock for a little while!

I thank God for every day I get to be at home with these girls! I wouldn’t trade this time with them for anything. I realize that there are so many mothers who would love the opportunity to stay home but just can’t seem to make it work financially. I want you all to know that I am praying for you, and that I do not take this time for granted. I am blessed!

  1. I know exactly what you mean, when I look back on the years I say to myself where did the time go. Thats why I try to do many thing with them, because they will be gone before I know it! Your girls are adorable!

  2. We have that clover shirt too!

That looks like fun (except for the 104 part). Last time we picked blueberries at a friend’s house, we all got eaten alive by chiggers. We should go out there and give it a try!

  3. So true. It makes me sad looking at old pics sometimes because I think how fast the time flies and how this must have been the same for my mom and now we are grown with kids of our own. Tear :'(
