Holiday Rolo Turtles

Holiday Rolo Turtles

As the busy-ness of the Thanksgiving and Christmas season cranks up, so does the need for quick, yummy treats like Holiday Rolo Turtles. Though we do our best to maintain focus on being thankful and the birth of Christ, the truth of the matter is that the holiday season is full of hustle and bustle that distracts us and causes a ton of stress. Let me make your life a little easier: give up the perfectionistic thinking that you have to spend hours in the kitchen in order to have the perfect dish to take to the next office party, Sunday school gathering, or school celebration. The Thanksgiving and Christmas season is about RELATIONSHIP, not about perfectionism!! Christ came to redeem His people. We will never share that message with others if we are stressed out from making everything too complicated.

Holiday Rolo Turtles are a treat that is simple and quick to make, but yet it gets gobbled up every time! All you need is a bag of Rolo candy, a bag of mini pretzel twists, and a bag of pecan halves.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with tin foil and spray it with cooking spray. Cover it with a layer of pretzels. On top of each pretzel, place one Rolo. (The hardest part of this recipe is unwrapping all those little Rolos. Enlist a helper!) On top of the Rolo, place a pecan. Heat in the oven for about 4-5 minutes. When they come out of the oven, press down on the pecan to make it look more like a turtle. Let them cool and you are FINISHED!

Now go spend all that time you saved with the ones you love most!
