A Whole Lot of Rambling About Nothing In Particular

My husband told me last night that he reads my blog. I was so surprised. Really, I was. He is usually so NOT into social media of any kind. He doesn’t do facebook. Doesn’t even know what twitter is. He has no desire to keep up with people through use of the internet. It seems that he prefers the old, archaic way of communicating. You know, like… talking to people. I was intrigued that he reads my blog. I asked him what he thought about it, half expecting his highest praise for how I so effortlessly do all that I have to do. I was feeling pretty optimistic. His reply? “You sure do read a lot of books.” Um, okay. And the sad thing is that I know that I have to plead totally guilty on that.

Just so you know, I don’t sit around reading ALL day, as much as I would like to. I do keep the house fairly clean and picked up, cook three meals a day, homeschool a second grader and chase our toddler, too. And today, we even managed to leave the house for a little while. It was during this excursion that I discovered that my life has made a major shift. As my older child grows up, I have moved more and more away from shopping days that ended in purchases like these…

Don’t get me wrong. I am glad my baby girl has things she loves to do that will keep her body active and healthy. But, can we not settle on something that requires hairbows and pretty dresses? You are killing your mama, Child of Mine!
