Oreo Balls

When I mentioned on facebook that I was making Oreo balls for Patterson’s birthday, I was surprised that several people had never heard of them. They are a delicacy that I learned about from my sister-in-law, Elizabeth. She came home from college one weekend and made them for us. I thought they would be perfect for a little girl’s birthday party.

Oreo Balls

One bag of Oreos (I use Great Value Twist and Shouts)
One 8 oz block of cream cheese, softened
One box of almond bark or white baking chocolate

Break up the entire bag of Oreos and mix with cream cheese in a food processor. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Roll Oreo mixture into walnut-sized balls and place on wax paper. Put in fridge for at least an hour. In a glass bowl or measuring cup, melt the almond bark or chocolate in the microwave n high for 1.5 minutes. Stir well and melt for another 30 seconds. Using a toothpick, dip each Oreo ball into melted chocolate, covering completely. Place back onto wax paper and refrigerate again, until chocolate is hardened again. Store in fridge. Enjoy!

Don’t forget to send me your questions about homeschooling! We’ll start the series next week, and I want to be sure I cover everything you want to know.
